Day 5: The Badlands, SD --> Mt. Rushmore, SD

What a thrill camping in the wildnerness is! We awoke to thirty bison roaming through our campground no more than 20 feet away from us.

Being this close to nature makes you stop and take in all that is around you. It makes you wonder, how many people will actually get to experience the vast landscapes across the United States. And for those who won't or just don't want to travel, I suggest stopping where you are, take a deep breath and appreciate your surroundings.

Both the road arriving to our campsite and departing our campsite was dirt. Considering the van we are driving in is 25 years old, we were a little worried traveling on these roads.

Tonight we are headed to Mt. Rushmore to stay with a friend from our hometown. So far the weather has been averaging around mid 60's during the day and getting to lows of 30 at night.

Off to Mt. Rushmore!
